Research into Practice – Week 3

For this session we were put into groups and asked to develop a group manifesto as a product of discussing our personal manifestos. We were also asked to present a creative response to our group manifesto.

My group consisted of 5 students representing a mix of the postgraduate courses currently being run at NUCA.

We each presented our own manifesto and the other group members gave comment and feedback. The process revealed that each of us had quite different approaches to our creative practice although we did manage to find some common ground, which we developed further.

The ideas of discovery, loss of inhibition, reclamation of lost space, layered form and environmental awareness seemed to come through. When playing around with these ideas we came up with the concept of the “New Russian Doll” movement.
